Eric, all I 'need' is a better BOV, which I will GLADLY pay for. If you want to hook a brother up with a front-sway off another car you have around there, who am I to say 'no'?

I was, 91 Corvette, race prep. On slicks. 4wd is so money through that corner, the harder you push, the more it wants. BUT, for future reference, I did try just over 85 in the rain, and that was a 'touch' too much for a wet track, however, I recovered, and still passed a 996 in the process, which is what instigated the whole issue. Point by, WAY too late to make the move with a stock engine setup.

With the new brakes, tires, and other goodies (thanks Eric) , I am hoping to get down into the LOW 1:22's. People say tires are good for 2-3 seconds there, so I will see.

Bone stock I have gone 1:27.1's. I don't count someone who races Porsche to be a 'standard' driver. I was there when Leh ( was this the guy) was running 1:22's. He knows the track VERY well. Was he on stock tires though? I thought he drove there on some either R's or slicks. I remember talking to Jon about what if it rained, whether he could run.

Anyway, on fried tires (I think 9+track days), I went 1:25's, and that was with the boost set at 18PSI, and bleeding off to 14-15psi after 5200. I was consistent in the 1:28's, because most of the time, I would come off of 8 and just lite throttle down the straight. I am working on dialing in the suspension, so i don't beat on the car too hard. In fact, most of the time I shift just over 6, because I run out of cam.

With the new BOV, so I can hold 19psi, and the R's, and the updating bracing and sways, I figure 1:22's by mistake if I run WOT whole track. Now, if I let Jon go, I bet he could get some sub 20's out of it.

Was that as clear as mud?

clear as can be.

yeah, he ran the 22s on stock tires. he put slicks on it that had been heat cycled already from one of the porsches and they were ****....i think he bested 24s with those....a little tweak of the sway bar and we were drifting the car and the crappy slicks all over the track....was fun.

he drove my car to a 23 when i could only do a 27-28(this was my first time ever on a track). my very best lap there, probably a low 27 or 26 i got hung up just before 8 by a freaking 944 that wouldn't let me pass....OH i was pissed.

i also dialed down the boost at the track....i think i was spiking 20 falling to 17 all day. intake temps were scorching in the 90+ heat...

but when leh had the slicks, i don't remember another EVO there....except a silver shop evo that lost its tranny plug and Greyman's black evo.

anyway, we all need to get up and go....i hope to go in november...if my funds allow.

I did let him drive mine in the next session. He had a blast, and was the fastest in his run group in the Evo.

he looks like he had a lobotomy. all thats missing is a little drool coming from the side of his mouth.

Let us know how the RA-1s work out on the track. I've been considering those as a decent track tire.
