Okay guys..... My BBY Front Bumper and hood are destroyed. I looks like it has some type of White chicken pocks on it because so much paint has chipped away...

Now this is my 4th Mistubishi (I had 7 cars in my life) and I have never had paint get this destroyed.... It is so bad it seems as though it was a manu. defect.

What is the best way to solve this?

1) Re-paint Hood and Front Bumper... Cost?

2) Purchase new Stock bumper and paint it... cost?

3) Buy after market Bumper and hood and paint it? Cost?

If you are going to do anything...I'd go aftermarket, maybe carbon fiber hood

man, i am in the same boat as you. except mine is tarmac black. every tarmac black daily driven evo that i have seen shares the same misery as well. i'd say repaint the stock and get a cf hood. mitsu's paint quality is horrible. i took mine to a body shop & they said that it is without a doubt due to poor paint quality and not because its a daily driver. He said that he saw a few lancers suffer the same and that like mine they were all under 20k miles. the front end of mine looks as if a bug hit it, that it would take paint off. i took it to the dealer after speaking with the paint guy & they told me that it was due to road hazards. they said that they could schedule an appointment for me to meet with a rep when he came to the dealership but he assured me that it would not be covered under warranty. so i got stuck with the sandblasted look.

anyhow, the paint guy i know quoted me 200 to redo the whole front bumper. he is a friend of a friend though so i would imagine he was saving me a bit. he also said 3 days downtime. im waiting until i get another daily before i go for it. im going cf hood as well, but keeping the stock front.

Regardless of what you buy, just remember, 3M protective film is your friend.

Take it to a shop and have them strip and polish the whole hood.

Carbon hood = old n busted

fully polished hood = new hotness

Just take it back to the dealer. Mitsu will almost certainly repaint it under warranty.

I hope that was a joke... repaint the front bumper, get a carbon fiber hood and get it clear bra'd.

Well I just had some work done on my car -- the body part repair was a bit more expensive that I had hoped for: replacing the lower lip and painting in, repaiting the rear bumper -- cost me 860+ ....that was just the body work ...ugh!

^^^were you wearing lipstick? did they at least take you out to dinner. i cracked my back bumper and the back panal was bent where it touches the bumper and it was ground down from a cement wall. i needed new parts like a wheel well and some other stuff under the trunk. all parts factory parts purchased from dealer, installed, and painted in one day of down time for $650. my dad's friend did this, but you said you had a friend doing it too. i guess i was quoted $1000 by one shop, but that was in a very yuppie town that tried to rip me off.
