Is this safe?

I took the vent out from under the hood were the hole is in the roof..Is it safe for water to hit that part of the engine?

It's fine. I run around with mine out. but if I know I'm going to be driving in hard rain, I put it back in.

water gets in with the vent in too.

^right, water is always going to make its way to the engine bay. but when driving it doesn't matter. i've had mine out for about 3 months now but i park inside all day. During the winter i might put it make on

cool yeah the exhaust mainfold is already rusted from factory..what else can look ugly there..lol

Yeah when I first brought mine home... My roommate was looking at the engine and said damn dude couldn't you have at least gotten one that wasn’t all rusted. I said that they are all that way!!!

im with mikey mike.hot turbos dont like cool water. mitsubishi designed the vent so that the least amount of water would be let in. i dont think underhood temps it will cool very much more with the mesh and vent taken out.

you can take it off, but parts will corode and rust.

I ended up putting mine back in.
