I'm one of the folks that know you aren't lying: I have nearly the exact same setup as you had at the time of that video.

However, if you carefully use the pause button, you will see 20psi at 3800 and 30psi at 4000rpms. Still, that is insane! People still can't believe the spool up in my car.

Keep in mind folks: At 20psi on race gas, Kev is making AROUND 440whp/400wtq.

 

He also didn't hit it till 3500rpm on the dyno...so it took less then 1000rpm on a dyno to spool it to 35psi. Rolling into it on the street, it will see 35psi by 4000rpm, just as Chris previously stated. I think I have him rolling into it on the street on video somewhere, if I can find it I'll maybe post it.

I agree with your statement Smogrunner, I think more people should be concerned about the power the car is making at a certain rpm rather then the boost it's making. His car was making 500lbs of torque at 4000rpm, so who cares if it's hitting full boost then, or a couple of hundred RPM later when it's making that kind of power. If you loose to someone in a race, but you are certain you had quicker spoolup..are you going to tell them "ooo you may have won, but my car spools faster". Making power at a certain RPM > crying about boost levels at a certain rpm, especially when someone has never experience this setup themself.

But this is discussion about the old setup, and this thread is about the new goodness...so I'm sure if one wants to discuss this further, one can make a new thread about it. But that's just my opinion, so who knows.

 

Also one thing to keep in mind about the dyno vid is that there was 0psi at 3500rpms and then 35psi at ~4200rpms. That's only 700rpms to build 35psi.

I am wondering how the car responds to the diffrent climate and elivation changes from chicago to florida? shouldnt the car get tuned in florida so the car can be at optimal level. BTW awsome setup chris&AMS

 

My AMS spec 35r hit 26psi at 4000rpm in an aem log in third gear. And I dont have a tubular manny cause it be hell getting one to fit in my small engine compartment. The turbo is bolted to the bottom of the stock cast manny. Most 35r uses comparring their spool rates are not discussing the exhaust housing they are using. The 35r is very sensitive to turbine housings. The AMS spec housing is the best spooling out there. The video of chris's car is not edited. And he wasn't spraying.
