Got ran off the road yesterday...

I was driving home from work yesterday and noticed a pickup slowly drifting into my lane. Didnt think he would actually try to just drift into my lane with no turn signal or nothing, I was WRONG. This guy was on his cell phone and wasnt paying attention. Only thing I would have been able to do was jam on the brakes and get rear ended possibly or go up a curb while laying on my horn. Well in the end I scratched the hell out of my rear rim (going up a curb) but avoided an accident. I got the guys plates and called the police, I wonder if there going to do anything... I've only had my car for 1 week!!

ahh that sucks, and is EXACTLY why they just began the 'no cell phone while driving' law here in CT, and if you ask me, its a mint idea. sorry bout the car, could have been worse though. My mother got ran off the road by a Mac truck not too long ago, and spinning down the median wrecked her under carriage and totaled the car.. (she's fine)

man i hate a-holes that don't pay attention while driving. they either cause accidents like that or they go two miles an hour and cause traffic.

I think you can still use your cellphone with a hands free set ... much safer that way ... that way ones head is free to swing left and right to stay alert ... still sucks that it happened to you ... buy a used rim off someone here

10% of the population follows this. It doesnt matter...everyday im encountered with people who do not understand the concept of looking over your shoulder as well to change lanes. Thank God for shoulder lanes.

They do but not everyone follows it. This law has been put in affect to stop things like this from happening. All in all could have been worse. Well im in the market for one Enkie rim if anyone has one

hey..don't buy the new wheel yet. Basically, if you got his plate name right, you can track him down and make him pay for it....basically, the cops will require proof of insurance...and it's your decision to make his insurance pay for it, or if you're nice make him pay for the rims for an near accident he caused....

b/c of all the inconvience and his stupidity, I would call his insurance and make them pay for it. Then he gets it from his insurance too...if you think about it, it's your duty to do it through insurance...ppl like that should pay more b/c they cause accidents...it's all mathematical probablities equations they worked out...

people like this deserves to be exocuted.

I think you can call your insurance and tell them this and maybe they can suggest the best route to go to solve this issue.

It should be legal to shoot people like that....................I'd buy a gun solely for that reason!

I just called my insurance agent. He said that nothing can be done till a police report has been filled out. Waiting for a police officer to call me back.

getting dude's plates won't mean a thing if you can't identify the driver. he will just say that he loaned his truck to a friend. if you're ever in a traffic accident the number 1 thing to do is hide your face and leave the scene. if no one can identify you it doesn't matter if a thousand people saw your plates. its sad but true.
