I like running across people like that. That's like when I had my 2nd gen Rx-7 and I ran against a 3rd gen Rx-7. He dusted me but I only challenged out of my love for cars. Can't wait for my Evo so I can share my new experiences! ....

 

i got cops breakign there neck looking at me(happened in last car i had too so i dunno it is porbably me) and i have people follow me then turn aorund and drive by me again(cause they were going in opposite direction) i had ppl go out of there way into parking lots ect... too ask aout the car umm pic,s video all that and the only car that stepped up to me was a benz sl500(old ones) florring it by then stopping and when i caught up flooring it, he had some girl in the car so i was like ok i m over this and gave it a lil gas in 5th gear to 5k rpm(cause still breaking it in) and took off on him...........that about it so far, oh i have a whole import shop empty out and walk outsie to the car before i even finished parking, to look at it and umm i think that is all i dont remember.....

 

This car gets looks from everyone. There seems to be three different categories of people in my midwest location.

The first is the avid car nut who knows exactly what the EVO is and can't believe their eyes when they actually see one on the road.

The second type is sort of like the first. The know that it's something special and are interested...they just aren't sure what it really is.

The third are all of the rest of the folks that see the big wing and immediately shake their head like "can you believe the size of that wing? Hahaha". Sometimes those guys have gun racks in their trucks.....and mullets.

A couple good stories from my friend's EVO...

The night he bought it we had a guy in a MINI Cooper S stop in the middle of the road before getting on the FWY to roll down his window and throw a big "thumb's up" - I thought that was pretty cool.

The next night with ~75 miles on the odo we had an older Eclipse GS-T Spyder try to get us to go. Apparently the young guys inside have never heard about break-in periods.

The best though so far, was the look on this one WRX owner's face as we passed him in Malibu Canyon. It looked like he wanted to cry. Actually, I think he was just surprised to see one so soon or maybe he was surprised that he liked how good it looked after all the trash they've been talking on the Subaru forums lately.

Anyway - car's like the EVO don't get too much attention where we live. People prefer the blue&white propellor logo, or that silly three-pointed star.

hmm..tht's great tht the evo's getting loads of attention in the US..here an EVO is juz another car tht gets u from A to B...veri less ppl here noes abt the EVO ,other than car enthusiatics...

most people only stare at the car when they go "whoossh"...then they'll be like " wtf...how come tht lancer with the poser wing has tht noise"

HAhAHAHAHah I seen 3 m3's in my city within the last week.. I never seen so many in my life.. Maybe before i just refuse to acknowledge them!!! but now I'm not scared anymore... By the way i Floored my car once already in first gear to 7k smoked a integra.. and shut it off. we were both crusing then he creeped up and gunned it and i followed by the end of first gear it was over.. And i only have 250miles.. i'm so bad

 

I must say after almost two weeks of owning this car, it gets so much attention its unbeleiveable. I am now getting to the point whereever i go someone is there asking questions and checking my car out.. Other day I left work to pick up some books to reference and a blue WRX was sitting in the parking lot and as i got out of my car he pulls behind me and asks is that AN evo?... I am like ya. than the questions come..

"How much was it?"
"How do you like it?"
"When did they get here?"

... most common questions.. It seems to be anyone and everyone who can recognize the car. Its fun with all this attention it just makes everything i do take at least 5 minutes longer .... But I am very happy with my purchase.

Most people turn their heads for a Bimmer because they don't know anything about cars other than "it's a BMW and must be good", then others will turn their heads because they actually appreciate what a BMW is, and I'd say that's why most people would stare at an EVO, which I think is cooler!

 

Well the good thing about this car is that its too expensive for the punk kids to drive. Ill eventually get one when the markup is dropable. Most dealers wont even budge. You guys need to hunt down those POS SRT-4's and chew em up.

I've been having people follow me around to get looks at it... I went into the grocery store last night, and upon my return, there were about 10 people (young and old) standing around it just staring... I thought it was kinda funny, especially when I used the keyless entry.. When the lights flashed, they all started stepping away.. It was funny... So my ice-cream started melting because I was talking to everyone about the car...
