Received poor treatment at the Mitsu dealer service dept.

I went to a mitsu dealer near me today to check out the EVO 9.

They had a white one in stock with the SSL package. Overall i love the tailites and headlites, and the one feature I'd like to get for my 05 VIII is the carbon fiber dashboard piece that goes across the dash.... if you've been in the nine then you'll know what I'm talking about.

Anyhow, I was there to get my spare keys/remote programmed.
I wasnt really greeted to courteously and they told me that I'd have to make an appointment to get the keys programmed. They also told me that they needed the car as well... anyhow I was like forget it since I have no time to wait.

Just needed to vent thanks for listening.

Maybe I'm wrong but thats the perception i walked out with of the service dept....
In addition I walked around the service dept and it looked pretty messy in there for me...

The salesmen saw me pull up in my EVO and once I stepped into the showroom they didnt really pay attention to me....but then again I was wearing bummy clothes and look 20 years old.

This is not news...the bad service experience at least.

BTW, you can program you own keys. Look at the owner's manual. Very easy.

This is how you program an additional key (at least for the 03:
Note: You must have two keys that are already programmed to program an additional key.

1. Put first programmed key in iginition to the ON position for 5 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition to OFF position and take key out.
3. Put second programmed key into igition and turn the key to the ON position. This must be done within 7 seconds of removing the first key from the ignition. You will then see the Theft alarm indicator blink twice.
4. Turn the key to the OFF position and remove the second key.
5. Insert the "blank" key that needs to be programmed and turn it to the ON position. This must be done within 7 seconds of removal of the second key. You should see the theft alarm inidcator come on and stay on for about 3 seconds. This will alert you that the key programming has been completed.

The instructions are per the manual.

Well they do need the car to reprogram the remote or the keys...just remember that if you bring one key/remote to reprogram it any spare keys/remote won't work anymore. so you would need to bring all sets. Doing so would only take 30 mins or less so I don't know why they would tell you to make an appt unless they were just so packed.
I feel ya on the salesperson just lookin at you cuz you're wearing bummy clothes, I 'll just ignore it and slap em with my check book =D
