When you have the "lowest price guaranteed" post it. Why ask for PMs unless you're quoting different prices? Make it easy to buy for people who may be cruising the Marketplace for a good deal or even an impulse buy. Post the price, close the deal, and take our money before we realize what we have just spent our money on. Anybody agree?
the reason they ask for pms is for shiping. they want to no where to ship to and how much it will coust them. if there selling a bov for 200 SHIPED they post that. if they selling a bov on sale best price pm me. then it is because there price is great but they got to no what to charge you for shiping.
The majority of shipping is a fixed cost. Sure you'll pay more to ship from NJ to CA than from NJ to NY, but it's not really significant.
I just think it would be much nicer to see the price when a vendor posts a deal--even if it was, "BOV, $150, PM for shipping."

Unfortunatley on some deals you CANT post the price.
Minimum pricing is required by MANY companys for their products. MANY companys give the products away at cost and could lose their product line up if the prices are lower then what they are allowed to sell them for. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON.

most big companies have a minimum price allowed which iif the vendor don't respect, they lose their right to sell that product. for example, a company might tell the vendor that they can NOT sell theiir exhaust for more than 10% off list. however, the vendor needs to get rid of excess inventory so he needs to go to 20% off. since he can't post it publicly, they choose to just say "lowest price" and say the price on the phone or PM.
