Most will recommend starting from the back, cat-back, and work your way towards the front. If money is an issue though, there is no reason not to get a DP first. It will however, provide the least gains of the 3 pieces that comprise a TBE.

Will getting a DP change the sound at all of the exhaust, and will there atleast be little power gains?
Im asking because my brother has the Helix on his 04 STi, and it definatly makes a difference in the way his exhaust sounds, and it seems it added a bit of power.
