clutch problem
clutch problem
Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone had some input on my situation here. My clutch is not slipping, however it is not engaging until it is almost 3 inches from being all the way depressed. Is this a pressure plate problem? Could I adjust it? please give me some info. Thanks ahead of time!
You can adjust the pedal, although I'm not sure what you mean by "engaging 3 inches from being all the way depressed." Do you mean to say that after you put the clutch pedal to the floor, you need to release it at least 3 inches for it to grab? If so (and I'd measure to be sure), then that is where it is supposed to engage. If you lower the engagement point, you will most likely end up causing excessive wear on your clutch, leading to early clutch failure.

As Ludikraut said, its normal to engage high on the EVO ... if you lower the engagement point the clutch won't fully disengage causeing accelerated clutch wear, shift lockout and accelerated synchro wear ... still want to adjust the clutch height?

Adjust the pedal in small increments to the point where it grabs ~ 3 inches off the floor. Good luck.
