Try premium instead of diesel? That does sound weird, but if its only for a short time right when you fill it maybe it's normal?

I've never heard of any such problems with "overfilling," and that includes ANY car, other than you end up with gas pouring down your rear fenders.

Maybe you got the bottom of the tank, where all the water is?

I guess that you run more lean during lower fuel levels and more rich during higher fuel levels..

Thats the way it is with nitro powered R/C

Yea, I was having the same problem. I'd always pump in more gas to round of my $ total... then my car would idle like crap.

Since gas prices went up I stopped rounding my $ off and I haven't noticed the rough idle since.

if you over fill your car you slug the evaporative system with too many hydrocarbons and it dumps to the intake system (this is a requirement on all cars from like 85 on or so) and that can casue driveability concerns

my 05 will do the same thing after fillup for the first 20 miles or so, only when idling though. i've noticed that when some pumps cut off its actually about to overflow out of the filler tube. i've actually had the gas run out once using a crappy pump that would cut off unless it was held perfectly regardless of the amount of gas in the tank. my srt4 would cut off sometimes well before it was full. i guess the tank in this one is different. i avoid traffic after fillup and don't run into the problem.

Why would a car have to run crappy after you put gas?, unless you put the wrong gas there should be no reasons why it runs bad.

However one member of the forum www.evolutionmr.net mentioned that his car ran really bad and he got the CEL after putting gas and not putting the gas cap

charcoal canister gets filled with gas and when the system purges at idle it dumps excessive raw fuel into the intake........or what he said
