Dealer Recommendation

I live in New York (near White Plains) but work at Long Island City. I went to 5 Towns Mitsubishi yesterday for a test drive, (the salesman promised me one) but when I got there, my salesman was busy and I was put with a different salesman who absolutely refused me a test drive. I actually lost money driving to that dealer (gas, wear and tear). The original salesman, Kevin tells me that when they get the Evo 9 MR's in I should come in. I told him the only way I would come in is for a test drive, no exuses. He said he would see what he could do. I came across feeling like the salesmen took advantage over me. I really did not like the way they do business. Should not be selling cars with their attitude. Their attitude reminded me of the car sales pitch in Analyze That. What do people think of this dealership? Is this something I can expect from other dealerships?

Have you bought a new car before? Get used to it, especially if your looking at cars in the evos class.

I went to a dealership here in Tampa FL - I pulled up next to a Salesman asking if they had any IX's in stock so I can check it out as I was looking at purchasing one sometime between now and 2 months. The salesman told me yes and to come on in...

I park the Ralliart and walk inside and I see no Evo's. As he goes to ask his Boss where the Evo is - I walk around the show room floor and see an OZ-Ralley priced at 19,000! The salesman comes back and tells me the IX won't be back until tomorrow as it is in the shop (huh?) and gave me his card. I asked him why the OZ is so expensive as I only paid 17 for my Ralliart which is better in every shape and form .. he told me the OZ is better then the Ralliart.

sigh - makes me feel all warm and tingly inside when I'm about to drop 35k on a car and they don't know crap!

Yeah my dealership will let you drive an 05 evo on pre approved credit for the 05. There is a no touching/driving policy on the IX MR.

I just picked up a IX MR this last saturday and i was talking to the salesman and he was telling me they dont let people test drive the new cars unless your pretty much going to buy it. IMO thats a good way to do it cause i know if im buying a new car i wouldnt want like 50 miles of people beating on it.
