EVO Dyno Graphs

Hi guys,

Sorry it took so long to disclose this information. We really wanted to get a good sample pool before posting anything. But there it is....

Attached below is wheel hp and wheel torque. You'll notice that there is a subtantial output variation above 5500rpm. Some cars, during some runs, ran into knock (barely audible through our detonation microphone) and the knock control system responded accordingly. But even when running det-free, the cars all made around 180 wheel hp.

All testing is done with 91 octane CA gas on our Dyno Dynamics All-Wheel Drive dyno. All cars were testing within a four day window.

Remember that it reads approx 15% lower than most Dynojet All-Wheel Dynos when tested under similar conditions. For example, stock 2nd gen GSXs typically dyno around 140-145 wheel hp.

The following graphs are for comparison purposes only:

JDM Evo 7 HP/TQ - 91 vs. 93 Octane

Stock '97 Eclipse GSX HP/TQ

WRX HP/TQ - Vishnu Stage 3

WRX A/F Ratio - Vishnu Stage 3

Cheers,
Shiv Pathak

Shiv,

I'd be happy to do the honor of resizing your graphs.

You can email them to me (evo at jedinite dot com) and I can resize them and get them back to you.

Cool. And by the way, Shiv... thanks for participating in this forum. You've taken some heat over the past few threads... but ignore the haters. A lot of us really appreciate your participation... including me.

looking forward on the graphs. Maybe it'll shed more light on the stock behavior of Evo.

I think most people are jumping the gun by these dynos numbers. These are two very similar cars (2 liters) in terms of performance. Just look at the different versions of EVOs and how different they are...because of minor difference and tuning.

This classic rivalry just begun and you're already nitpicking things like dynos. Be more constructive and think of why the number is low, learn and derived from it. I'm not saying Shiv is God, he certainly didn't say the EVO is a piece of junk...I'm sure he's learning about the EVO as he's tuning it.
Patience is a virtue....in the end everyone will be happyier with a faster, more refined AWD car.

180hp at the Wheels equate to how much at the flywheel?

Thanks

For the EVO, I'd say it's closer to 260 hp based on what we've learned so far. On 93 octane, we've tested EVOs to make nearly 190 wheel hp which would match up to factory claims well.

Cheers
