Lets talk tranny noise. If you folks who have your EVO 8's please give us all a lesson on what you here from your transmission while driving. For ex. I will start with myself.

The transmission sounds like it is out of a heavy duty truck. As I stated on another post. And that is OK if this is how it is supposed to be. When getting of the throttle the noise is louder
(my guess is because you are not putting pressure on the gears)
Gear one is the most pronounced. Quieter with every up change.

And when idling with the clutch out and I rev it up you can here i think the clutch system. When i push the clutch in noise goes away. Not the most attractive noises. Just want to make sure everyone is getting these noises.

Not trying to beat a dead horse just don't want to let anything go if it is not correct. You know how some dealers can be about noises Imean what noises.

I dont' know what are you talking about. My tran soulds like my M3 trans execept a little more course. Rumor has it that our car was delayed because of tranny issues. Evo 7 have clutch issues. If you have the feeling that something is wrong take it in to your dealership!

 

well, I am not fortunate enough to have heard these noises, but doesnt the evo warning video talk about how lots of stuff is louder and harsher than on regular car?

 

I haven't seen the video. Could someone tell me what's on it? Was it cool?

 

Well, with stiffer bushings there comes increased noise.

When i changed the motor mounts/ tranny mount in my Supra TT, i had ALOT more tranny noise because of it.

I just love the fact that Mitsubishi had the ***** to bring such a hardcore car to the US..............Finally
