Worthy rivals for stock Evo?

I guess these kind of threads have been talked all over individually, but what are the stock Evo's worthy rivals?

this kid bet me $100 ( i know its nothing, but a free turbo timer in the end that his stock '00 Mustang GT would smoke me...the thing is, he's never even heard of an Evo..he said there is no way a 4 cylinder car can beat him..

although he doensnt know hes in for a suprise, i was questioning who else can i take advantage of?

With a proper launch, you will beat the following stock cars from a dig:

- Any year Mustang
- All Cobras before '03
- All LT1 and LS1 Z28s/SSs/TAs/Firehawks
- C1-C4 Vettes
- All GTOs
- All 350Zs and G35s
- All SRT-4s
- All WRXs (not STi)
- All Boxsters
- All Hondas
- All Saturns
- All Acuras except the NSX
- All Toyota's
- All Lexii (haha)
- All Hemi-Dodges

There's many more, I'm sure

On the flipside, you will lose to many of those from a roll, which doesn't count, since that's not a form of racing I'm familiar with.

Please don't forget if you're going to race take it to the track.

what if he had the adjusted pulley for the supercharger...harder to tell if he's stock or not.

about 2 months ago, some Evo guy on here lost to a GT with pulley change and exhaust.

Those two are not mutually exclusive. I launch from high RPM (6k) and feather it before hammering it, which requires a slight slip. This is not a launching advice thread. Just know that to get the full benefit of an Evo from a dig it must include a *****-out launch, else you start even slower than a 2wd car that is spinning. A bog is quite detrimental to any AWD launch...

what supercharger?

Well thats cool to know, its good i didnt challenge that Evo 7 in my s2000 when i went back home (Turkey) this summer.. The thing is, i dont want to dump my clutch for the take off, so i was planning on roll, you think i'd lose from a roll?
the evo has 4.9 sec 0-60 and the stang gt has 5.9 so from the dig it be obvious whats gonna happen..

i guess the only way to get 4.9 is to dump the clutch...

GTs are not Cobras. Only the 03+ Cobras were supercharged. Notice that I didn't include them in the list, so there are no Mustangs or Cobras in my list that are supercharged.

I said a "proper launch." I did not mention dumping the clutch. A dump of the clutch is not the proper launching method. If you don't know this, then you likely would get beaten from a dig more often than not, since you aren't skilled at launching yet.

From a roll, you will be much more likely to lose to a lot of those cars. You would still probably outrun a stock '00 GT, but not by as much as you think. There's no reason to ask about "from a roll" anyway, because that infers street racing, which we do not do. Head to a track and settle it like men. You will be $100 richer (minus track fees, haha).
