I thought those S4's were still going for the high 20's.

you must ask yourself-do you want a fast car OR a reliable car? anything German (except VW) will be expensive to repair & maintain. anything Japanese will be almost as expensive to repair & maintain. but i say bite the bullet & get the best handling car you can afford. power is easy to make, handling isn't.

try to find some low mileage 93-95 RX7's. 90-93 AWD DSM's can be built up for about 7-10k including the car! a 95 Neon ACR w/ a Hahn racecraft kit will hurt some feelings & cost less than 10k. 91-94 Sentra SE-R w/ a SR20 would be nice to run mid 12's for about 8k or less.

if you must have German & only have $15k MAX, check the 95 & newer BMW 540i. 6 speed manual with a V8!!!!!!!!!! can't go wrong with that.

people will notice i din't mention the nissan 240's. those cars are ridiculously marked up right now due to the drifting scene. it's not a cost effective project car unless you have some $...

I personally don't think you should buy ANY of the following; an M3 or an Audi.

You say your budget just dropped by $15,000. You know you want an Evo. How badly are you willing to suck it up to get that Evo?

My suggestion: 2005 left-over Kia. $8,000. Suffer with the Kia, all the while saving all the money you can. By the time the Evo X rolls around, you will have a nice chunk of change to drop on the down payment. Patience.

good advice actually, thats exactly what i did, i could have afforded an evo right now, but its not a smart financial move for me right now (i plan on the car working for me, not the other way around), so i bought a decent car thats reliable as i save up my money wisely where i feel comfortable and financially sound to spend that type of money without any consequences, so patience is def a virtue

get the srt 4... and stage III it.. just dont become a jack *** lol, it will be real tempting to do so once you sign on the dotted line. They must make you watch an instructional video when you buy the car on how you are suppose to behave... i.e. rev and vta at every evo and sti you see, race everyone, talk **** to other turbo owners, etc etc.lol

If you have to think about affording the evo then you can't.. I bought mine used and it has cost me a fortune to maintain it.. its cheaper to buy a new evo then a used evo.

Plenty of power, plenty to mod, and plenty to fix. That's the thing about F-Bodies. They're dirt-cheap to buy, but everything else costs an arm and a leg. F-Bodies are NOT cheap cars to modify, or repair.

Trust me, I know.
