Dealer increased oil change price

Just got back from the dealer for a routine oil change. Now charging over $70! They blame it on the increased cost of crude oil, I blame it on greed. They used to charge around $50, so lets figure this out......5 quarts of oil, $20 difference, so thats $4 more per quart . I guess I'll be doing oil changes on my own from now on.

I have always done my own oil changes. Go to Walmart you can get a 5 qt jug of mobil one for like $22 then you just need the filter.

Let's see... I get Mobil1 from Costco at $4 a quart, plus napa filter for $4 dollars... My oil change comes out to a grand total of about $25 dollars.

I would just do my own oil changes from now on. It's not like the EVO filter and drain plug are in the worst to get spots.

That is absurd! What does the cost of crude have to do with the cost of a synthetic oil?

I agree with all of you, should do my own changes, but I am one of the old guy's (40), and don't want to deal with the hassle-any time I spend under my car will be for performance upgrades!

EvoWrxowner.....I go to Fred Beans in Doylestown. Do you know of a dealer doing it for less?

I've done my own on my jeep, I don't know about evos but its soooo easy on a truck or jeep, cause you dont have to lift it or anything. I'm guessing on an evo you have to drive up on ramps or something? or can you jack it up and put it on jack stands?

It takes 5-10 mminutes to change the oil on the Evo, I wouldnt call that much of a hassle.
