vac at idle and cel

so i installed my autometer (yea i know it sucks, but it reads 0 when not connected so should be ok) boost gauge, started her up and am only getting 17mm/hg. i thought this was a little low so first i checked all of my connections for leaks or kinks and they all looked fine. next i started looking around where i had cut lines and found a small tear on the line going to the FPR so i cut the line where the tear was, reconnected everything and started it back up and there was no change. while letting it idle i tried spraying the lines with carb/choke cleaner to see if the idle changed and nothing, so at this point i'm pretty sure everything is hooked up ok. i think my higher reading might be because of what i consider a high idle that i've always had, 850-950rpm is typical with 900 being about average. does this sound like a correct assumption?

now the other question. while letting it warm up my check engine light came on. i have no real idea why this was but i'm thinking maybe my T for my boost gauge was too close to the FPR, or spraying carb cleaner got some in the FPR and it didn't like it. i'm trying to reset my ECU now to see if that helps. i have no access to a scan tool to find out what the code is. will resetting the ecu help? has anyone else run into this before? thanks

ok so i took it for a ride, the cel seems to have gone away but the vac at idle is staying the same. under deceleration i'm at 22mm/hg and under acceleration i was getting spikes to about 22psi, settling at the normal 19psi and 16psi closer to red line. the spikes seemed kinda weird to me, but i think everything is pretty much normal, right?

that's about right.. you should spike to about 21-22. then you'll taper off as you get to the redline..get an MBC and that will fix the taper problem. i just installed mine a couple days ago and it made a huge difference. i love it!
