Yes, its the ariel atom and yes it does beat the enzo around the top gear track. I think its close to 100,000 dollars aus. One of the funnest cars to lay hands on. The value for that performance is astonishing. I would buy one.

yeah, it's not a direct conversion. For example, the Evo IX (fq300) costs £27,999.00 in britain, which (using direct conversion) would be $50,000 here, which it isn't. For some reason, goods don't really follow the monetary conversion numbers, they're more relative to location. I think money conversion #s are strictly for converting money, not comparing cost of living (or buying) standards.

Based on that, it seems like we're actually getting a much better deal on stuff

No, the conversion is the same, whether you're talking about money or goods. What you're seeing in car price differences I think are the high taxes the British pay on goods so they can have things like "free health care."

i saw that episode, and it was nothing short of pure amazement. that machine is insane in the membrane. if i could i'd get my hands on one i'd put a helmet on my head everytime i drive spirited with that thing. it's as if i'm driving a motorcycle, but it's not.....
