Post This has probably been beaten to death but..

I want to get an alarm with a Turbo Timer combo that works without the auto start. The car is only 9 days old..heh I know getting an autostart will kill my warrenty Don't get me wrong autostart is a great feature especially during the winter. I always leave my car in neutral with the ebrake on at all times. If this didn't void my warrenty I would jump on it in a second. Any ideas guys?

Any good alarm/TT combo that's would work. Just asking because I remember reading on this board about setting setting the alarm on a timer to turn on after the TT turns off. I've been told that when the TT turns off the doors on the EVO open up. This is the last thing I would like to happen Thanks in advance for any information replied on this post

you cant, most places wont do it, you dont need a turbo timer, i have a 791x and i dont use the TT option, if you want to wire it up go for it but its a waste of time and money, go buy a boost gauge.

Having a TT is NOT a waste of money. It helps prevent the oil in the lines to and from the turbo from baking and causing flow problems by allowing the oil to cool after a hard run or spirited driving. It won't stop it from happening, but it will help prevent it.

It's not necessary on our turbo due to improvements in technology. It hasn't been necessary for many years now with the 16G. It's also not about the oil cooling down (as I once thought, too), but rather the turbo itself cooling down. The oil is only around 80-100C, but the turbo is upwards of 800C. The concept is that if you turn off the car while the turbo is red-hot, it can then cause the stationary oil to coke, since it superheats it from 100C to 800C...not exact numbers, but you get the picture. All that is needed is a short cooldown period before turning off the car that can be accomplished by simply not boosting straight into your parking spot.

what he said, drive slow and smart for 2 min before you get to your destination, its a waste of money if you can just wait 30 seconds before you get out, which is hardly necessary. i was in the same boat as my good buddy Warrtalon, i though you needed one too, nope, just dont boost into your spot and you are fine, oh and DO A SEARCH, thats the first mod you should do.

turbo timers are really over hyped given the technology our 16g's have, they are oil AND water cooled. . .but common sense dictates staying out of boost before u park, and just kind of hang out for like 30 seconds and let the car idle, u don't need a little annoying gizmo to do that for you. . .my last OIL-cooled t3/t4 car had a turbo timer and it was such a PITA, especially with locking the doors, etc. . .and frankly, I could've let it idle for the 20-30 seconds while I dicked around. . .my rule of thum, if u drive like a grandma, don't need to idle too long, if ur boostin' like a mother, idle for 30sec. . .

how would it void a warranty, you cant see remote start, its a wire basically, so i would have to say thats a no, plus they would have to, as its been said 8787872098029358304967306883670956486 times on this forum alone, that they have to prove that it broke the "............." and that is likely to be impossible,

NO they dont. Another Myth! I had warranty work done on my car with the VIPER VX791 on it and they said nothing. This is the same dealer that denied me warranty for my transfer case. Warranty work was done on the starter.

i think Ungo makes a tt with an alarm. it locks the doors & goes thru the countdown, then arms the car after it shuts off. i will look for the model #. a tt will also work with the factory alarm. it trips people out when i pull up bumping, get out the car while it's running, arm it & walk away...

You can get the Viper alarm. It's alarm + tt in one nice package. It does cost a chunk of your dough though.

I am sorry but this post reminds of my hill billy brother inlaw that remote start on his manual chevy truck. I was actually on the phone with him at the time when some how the button on his remote got pushed and the truck drove through his porch. This is why you never put a remote start on a stick shift car.

you just dont leave it in gear, its not hard, you can even make it so that it wont start in gear, with a trap door type switch on your shifter. ive seen it done.
