If your really looking to get into a test drive, Tell them your ready to buy today If I can only test drive it to make me feel 100% about the car, contain your emotions over the car on the test drive(trust me, youll like it), after the test drive tell them your not sure anymore and you want to go check out an STI, they'll probably want to start dealing at that point.
Heh, I have fun at dealerships. It's all about your attitude and how you present yourself. If you go in there looking like you're not interested or you think they're in control of what's going on, you're not going to get treated the way you want.
I'm only 22. I have test driven and taken home cars for the weekend to test for myself and friend/family members, anywhere from a civic to a lexus LS 430 for my grandma.
Go in, ask for a test drive, if they decline, tell them you'll glady goto the next dealership, and if they don't their loss. Go to the next dealership, ask for the keys, if you get them, testdrive the car to the other dealership and tell them they just lost your business to X. That'll change their tune. I've done it on several occasions, and then the price war begins.

Im not one to defend dealerships, but imagine how many young kids come by to "test drive" evos when they have no interest in actually buying the car. And as **** as some of us evo owners are with regards to break-in processes, we should be greatful for that. I personally didnt need to test drive my car, cause being obsessed with the car for over 10 years, I knew Id love it no matter what, plus, I bought it from a far away dealer over the phone so I already owned it the first time I saw it in person. Just my .02

I was 19 when I got my evo... they offered to let me test drive the Only evo that was in their lot but i declined...so one of the managers gave me a ride in it ...if i knew how to drive stick at the time i would have. Mine was the only other one and was inside the showroom so I was glad that noone else abused it before i got it
