Seatbelt Beep!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this argument has been argued here before. the dude simply asked how to turn it off, he doesnt need a lecture about wearing it to make it go off. for you people that bow to the goverments wish and belive the seatbelt helps, then good for u
there are some of us (including me) that feel the seatbelt doesnt help as much as people may say it does.
in my past accidents (none my fault, honestly) ive had 2 times were i was wearing it (out of respect for my friends who were driving as they insisted i wear it) and 1 time i wasnt. oddly enough the 2 times i wore my seatbelt i walked away with whiplash. the one time i didnt wear it, was when my friends avenger got (not t-boned, but close enough) on the rear passenger side, and all i did was climb out his side of the car.
not to mention my GFs boss's daughter was involved in a car accident a couple months ago. she was in mid 30's i belive, one son 8, and one son a couple months old. son of 8 was sitting in front seat, months old child in rear childs seat facing proper way, strapped in etc. (for all you who want to argue the fact the 8 year shouldnt be in the front, he met all weight and hight requirments for sitting in the front seat.
now remember, all strapped in right???? well, the force of the accident SNAPPED the 8 year olds neck, killing him instantly (was later found out the seatbelt (like its supposed to do) restrained the child, causing his body to stay in place but neck head went forward at one hell of a rate), the mother cracked 2 ribs due to the force of the belt against her stomach, and the child in the car seat was ejected through the sunroof, thank the good lord he survived... guess what, the only person not wearing a seatbelt was the child in the childs seat (it was one of those where it kinda streatches across just to keep the kid in, ya know?)
now, im not saying this happens every damn time, but ive seen and felt it enough to proudly say that ill take my chances without the damn things.
i understand the people who will swear by them and say they saved thier lives and thats fine, i understand all that, but there are some of us who either hate being forced to wear them, hate being hated on by the ones that do who think were committing suicide everytime we want to go 3 blocks to a store, or, have just seen/ been in enough bad things happen to people and familes while wearing them that we just choose not to.
this country was built on freedom, if the dude wants to disable it, by all means its his choice. he doesnt need a lecture from any of us about the rights or wrongs of his choices that he makes in life, hes a big boy/girl, he can make his own decisions. lets try to respect his freedom of choice and not make smart *** remarks about his choices.....

Mine on my '03 has been off since i bought it used. And as a strict seatbelt user..i must say it is nice. I mean going slow in a fast food drive-through, leaning to get to the ATM machine, cruisin at 5mph in parkin lots. There are all kinds of situations when you just dont need to hear the beep. I would like to know , for sure, where you can turn this on/off. Is it definately under the seat? If it is, i am going to reconnect it to see just how bad it is. I will probably leave it off though, since wearing a seatbelt is second nature to me.
What I hate is when I get where I'm going and take my seat belt off and then I have to listen to that damn beeping while I let my car idle. It should NOT beep when the parking brake is on, WTF????
wow, someone must have disabled mine already...because it doesn't beep. i do wear my seatbelt most everytime though, but there have been times i haven't and it doesn't beep.
nice.
as for the guy believing seatbelts don't help you in wrecks....your opinion based on a minor wreck not giving you whiplash is funny. whiplash, last i checked, isn't a terminal disease and you didn't die from it...therefore the seatbelt did its job. im sorry you had a neckache.
if you had been in an accident where the car flipped, or was hit head on while you weren't wearing your seatbelt, you wouldn't be here to tell us about your last accident.
what is in it for the government by insisting we use our seatbelts while driving 85mph?
nice.

you guys are special!
there are 2 wires coming out of the seat belt clip, they are black so you wont see them at first, just cut both of them, as long as they are not touching it wont beep or show the light.
I did this with my car(i have saftey harness's

mine took 10 seconds to disable. there is a plug under the seat coming out from under the carpet that plugs into another plug going into the part bolted to the floor that you put the belt into. no tools required.
oh yeah and +++++++ for leave the guy alone.
