test drove a evo 9 last night

very fun car...didnt notice a huge difference between it and the 2005 evo8...the only thing i didnt like is when i got on it and shifted the steering wheel would kinda move around a little...it did have a strut bar on it but i figure it could also prolly use a good drop....other than that i told him to see what he could do on my trade in....i def want it....i owe 25k on my cts and i told him if he could get me payment wise 500 or under i will do it asap...i dont know if that is feasable or not but hopefully...hes suppose to call me back today...wish me luck!

lol, it's called torque steer, and droping the car without changing the geometry is usually negating the effict of toe, bump steer, and camber and much more. Even though the effects of lowering are benifical in some cases, the negative effect are usually quite bad for the car's geometry

my credit is decent but its been ran alot lately and running it lowers your score...so who knows...is that 600 a month for a brand new evo or what? also did you trade in or what? 600 is a tad pricey unless you traded sumthin in and took a major hit...or got a mr

Its impossible to know if $600, $500, $700 a month is good / bad unless the full financials are disclosed. Down payment, interest rate, trade in etc. can make both $600 great or $600 horrible.

Unless your doing a 6 year loan your payment will be over $500. I could be wrong if your putting down some money.

600 isn't a tad pricey at all. I know I got an MR, but my financed amount was only 36k, and at 3.99%, the payments came out to $663/month.

Now, let's take your scenario. You didn't mention the year or mileage on your CTS, so I'm having to guess:

If you have a 2005 CTS with only 10k miles, have the better engine, and have an automatic (picked the more expensive options), then your trade-in value is only $24k according to KBB. If you have an older one, more miles, the smaller engine, or the manual, then that value goes down considerably. Just to give you the benefit of the doubt, I will just pretend you break even on the trade-in.

Now, let's assume you get a brand new 2006 Evo IX GSR without SSL. You will pay MSRP, which is around $32k. Add tax, tags, and title of around 2k, and you'll be financing $34000. Over 5years (60 months), if you got 0% financing, this would cost you $567/month. Since 0% is not available on IXs, let's say you somehow get an awesome 1.99% for some reason - then it's $596/month. If you get my great APR of 3.99%, it goes up to $626/month. So, I don't know what other tricks you have up your sleeve, but I highly doubt you'll have payments of $500 or less...

Yeah, 600 would be fantastic for 48 months.

EDIT: assuming no trade and no down payment.

That means you got your 05 for $30,120 OTD, so you actually negotiated it down to 28k, which is awesome. Not sure if that included any rebates on top of the 0%, but unfortunately, he won't be able to get a IX for that price.

I say buy a new 8 like me for cheap. I bought mine from out of state, shipping it over here, and taxes/tags/title over here in Maryland (cheaper than cali). I just picked up my plates today, Dependable autoshippers says my car will arrive Monday. Can't wait.

I paid 26583 for my evo 8 w/ 4 miles, no SSL. Paid 1530 today for taxes, tags, title
GRand total of a little over 28 otd. Not bad i say!!!!!!!

I read a article on the internet a few months back and said the average car payment is between 550-600 a month. I pay only 510 a month for my car but thats with no money down. I never put money down for a car.
