Its getting late in the year, and the 05's are in demand though since there is not as many left! demand = higher pricing

wow that's crazy. 34k for a car that's already outdated (not in my eyes, but in general) because of the arrivals of the ix.
** here's where i'm confused...i BOUGHT a 04 last yr in sept/oct for $29998 w/out tax and tittle. now with the NEW IX already here, why aren't they giving me a better price than that? I have no idea how many 05's are still left, but i'm assuming a little more than a hundred in America. I'm not willing to pay more than $29,998 for a SSL w/out taxes, title...the person who paid 31,495 for a GSR w/out SSL overpayed way 2 much (no offense) the other guy paid $28k OTD for an 05 GSR as well. that's the price i'm looking for. No way you should pay more than what I paid last year for basically the same car but with SSL. That's insane. Anyways...i'm going to stick to my plan. I know I won't get it for $29,000 (like ppl said, way below invoice ), but $29,500 is my plan...and hopefully before Oct 31st, it'll be fine.
btw didn't they increase the prices for the 05 models? maybe that's where i'm getting confused... someone please clarify that. i don't wnat to look stupid in front of the dealers...should be the other way around.
and for people who said it's illegal for them to take my car...the contract (FINE PRINT..damn it) says the dealer has 10days to APPROVE everything...in my case, i haggled with them to give me 1.9% and they finally did after like 30min, that didn't clear with their bank, and the bank told them either make them pay the 5% or get the car back (obviously the dealer wasn't willing to pay diffence in interest on my behalf), i know the difference between 1.9 and 5.9 isn't much, but hey, they promised me that, and i wasn't willing to let them walkover me....so yeah thats that.

anways mucho thanks for the replies...i'm gonna call every dealership within a 500mile radius like sum1 said. that should make them work against one another and offer me some ridiculous price! hehe

Just came from dealership in Kalamazoo MI as was looking to trade in '03 GSR for an '05 w/ssl. They have had that '05 for 9 months and still had 34,414 for sticker. With the dealer loyalty and all the discounts, said the lowest they would go is 31700. Needless to say they will still have their '05 w/ssl on their lot as I am not paying more for a 1 yr old car than an IX.

I know of a White 2005 W/ ssl in Milwaukee, WI. It is located @ Renner Mitsubishi. It has aproximately 900 miles on it. Brand new ask for Bryan Davis the number is 414.258.9980. I had a deal @ $28,500 after discounts and dealer cash ($1000) customer cash ($1000), loyalty cash -if you own a mitsu you are trading in on it ($500) and graduation cash ($500) if you are graduating or have graduated for college in the last semester. So if you don't own a mitsu or aren't graduating from college you can buy for $29,500 maybe less. New 2005 white w/ssl package.

Why buy a 05' new? The minute that you drive it off the lot you will experience 4K in depriciation....I mean the second it's your's you just pissed 4K in the toilet. Buy used or buy a IX!!

How do you figure 4K depriciation? Is that based upon actual facts or speculation? I would bet the latter!
Evo's seem to hold their value pretty well, similar to diesel trucks(Superduties, etc.).

hey guys...thanks for the heads up of where the 05 evos are. I'm be calling them all soon to see what's up. the problem with buying a used 05 evo is the interest rate.
Say I do get a great price of say $27000 for an used 05 evo...the lowest interest possible in my area is about 6% for used cars. my payment would be approx $528.00 a month for a used one...i'm basing this off a loan amount of $27000 with 6% for 60months.

Now say I go buy a new 05 w/ssl with the 0% financing.
0% for 60months
loan of $31,500
payment per month approx $525.00
If I loan $32,000 it would be approx $533.00

Payments are basically the same...so why not buy new? break it in properly...and you get that new car smell all for the same price as a used 05 evo for $27000 (and I haven't seen any for $27,000)

I talked to two Mitsu dealerships this week and even though people will post different both said 0% on the 05 EVO is over.

Even though payments may be the same your "equity" so to speak is not. You will be upside down almost 8K the minute you drive it off the lot. Even the EVO seems great now...how great will it feel in 5-6 years?? I'll bet not too great. Buy used unless you are sure you will be keeping the cars for the lenght of the loan.

yeah that's def true if you're going to sell in a couple of years. if that were the case i'd def get the IX, but having said that...i'm going to keep my car for a while (a while being > 6 years). Even if I buy the IX i'll still get the instant depreciation, perhaps not as close to that of an 05 but still something
...no cars an investment. i'm not looking at this as an investment, just something I could be happy with for hte long haul. basically keep it stock as I love the feeling of knowing if something happens, I won't be forking over anymore money, except for the wear and tear items.
I just checked the rates for used cars and they are higher than my 1st estimate. outstanding credit gets 6.94% for 60months.
If the 0% deal is over...i'm screwed
I heard it lasts till the end of Oct...meaning ends on the Oct 31st @ 11:59pm?
