clunks?
clunks?
hey i've had this problem for a while now that mitsubishi cant seem to figure out..basically the front end coming from the wheel well has some clunking noise...sometimes it happens going over bumps..some times it happens just when i turn the wheel..and it seems to get worse when its cold outside..they cant figure out what it is..i dont know how hard they're trying but maybe if i go in with an idea they'll replace it..they thought it was the front sway bar off center and they straightened it out a little and it seemed to go away for a day but then it came back and its been like this for a year..when go through a long hard turn it even feels like something might be loose but they say that nothing is..any ideas what this could be?
thanks..i did that a while ago and even recently and there wasnt any decent post until apparently today when i just checked again..17 pages later of course..and even then i dont know if its a sure fix..i figured not everyone checks and posts on that so i would get my own personal opinion by someone who might have finally found out..but thanks for your help

I had this same problem in my Corolla (far cry from an Evo, I know) and it turned out one of the front struts wasn't connected properly.
When I turned, it would clunk, if I went over a bump, it would clunk. And the steering wheel would veer to the direction I had just turned. Until I went over a bump and 'unclunked' it, then the steering was fine

If there's nothing lodged in the suspension, have them replace the front struts.
