checking boost decrease...

Hey, my car went to repairs 1000 miles ago (rod knock, problem with piston #1, manufacturers defect) and had a new shortblock installed. After i broke in the new engine, i noticed that the boost once the turbo was engaged wasnt as powerful as it used to be. I used to have symptoms of elevated heartbeat, clenched teeth, and head concussions from being slammed back to the seat. Now it just doesnt do it.

I havent installed a boost guage yet (used to money for something else) so until i get one, how can i measure the boost level of my car? can the dealership find out the psi level? Plus, whats the stock boost psi for our cars?

Also, my shifter used to be so smooth, now it just clunks to the next gear, i practically have to put effort into shifting, and it feels like its grinding against something as i do? any ideas what this may be... (it only has 3900 miles, and look at all these problems..

Thanks a lot..
