Quick advice needed - Apexi GT downpipe

Hi guys,

I've got a pretty much stock Evo IX, and have just come across a decent offer for an Apexi GT downpipe that closes in the next couple of hours. Would like to check in with you guys on what kind of performance gains I can expect from it on a stock IX.

Thanks in advance

I have the Apexi GT downpipe and I'm not terribly impressed. It's not a true 3" as advertised (2.5-2.75") and I'm not sure that you'll realize a lot of gain with stock cat and cat-back.

I'm not really sure where the "bottleneck" of the stock exhaust is but I assume it's in the Cat, then the catback, then the downpipe.

I'd say you could save some $$$ and pass on the Apexi DP

Removing the cat is the most for gains, catback is the next, downpipe will yield absolutely nothing untill the cat and catback are replaced.

Furthermore exhaust upgrading yields a very low bang for the buck on stock cars but is absolutely nessesary after mbc, flash, cams, etc.
