Will the Evo 9 be only built 1 year???
All the media press I've read suggests your right. The IX will only last one year.

I'm just going back and forth whether or not to buy one.
So anyone know?

The X will be out later next year. If I was in the market for a new EVO I would wait. From what I have read it is going to be a whole new car. The paddle shifting option is pretty damn cool in my book. A friend of mine just bought an Audi A3 with paddle shifting ability. It is fun to say the least.

interesting. actually i can see that happening...
Well sorry, I was just rushing. I had to go do something, So I had to rush. Oh I guess I must be doing something good because I am in high school. And I have to keep high grades to keep my car. So go ahead and report that post, Cause I am not going to fix it.
I'm fairly sure the Evo X will be out in 07. Tier 2 emissions goes into effect then. Hence Mitsu doing away with the 4G63 and putting MIVEC onto the IX. I don't see the 4G63 making the cut as far as Tier 2 emissions goes. A lot of people ask "Why mess with success?" regarding the Evo X's new engine, well there's your reason why: emissions.

don't worry about it... you seem like a pretty good kid. at 16 you're more mature than a lot of adults that post on here.

According to Mitsu's exec vp of sales and marketing:
"The last of the new products are a redesigned Lancer compact in calendar 2007 and, for model-year 2008, a brand-new Lancer Evo X, which Schembri describes as revolutionary."
If the Evo X debuts as model year 08 (meaning it probably won't go on sale until summer 07 at the earliest), I doubt they would stop selling the IX for a year in the meantime. That implies to me that the IX will be available for model years 06-07.
