Make sure you have a radar detector.

I traveled from Dallas to Chicago with my MR by myself w/ no problems...double check your fluids before you head out, that's all....& bring lots of music...the only hard part was no cruise control, so you eventually speed up when you get tired looking at the speedometer...that's where the radar comes into play...

A strong ankle (no cruise control).

After a 6000 mile haul over 10 days in one for One Lap 2003, and a 3500 mile haul this year.. cruise was the only thing I wished was on the car that wasn't.

My only complaint with the EVO on long trips is the hard elbow rest on the door. I usually have a sweatshirt or something stuffed under my arm to keep it from falling asleep.

Other than that you just have the normally complained about lack of cruise control and the frequent required gas stops.

Bring a book on punctuation. Read it, then repost

that should cost you around 6 hours of driving, 2 tank of gas.
around 25mpg for stock evo 8

i travel from Los Angeles to san fran frequently.
you just need to stop at every rest area you can see and you're good to go

rest a lot, drive safely
**remember to bring cell phone in case anything bad happen.

check oil and coolant.

I drove from Pittsburgh to Martinsville, VA a few weeks ago and that was about a 5 hour trip and my only complaint was my ankle cramped up on me, but I blame the shoes they were low ankle cut and i think it cut the circulation off from the angle my foot was at on the pedals...On the way home I wore above ankle shoes and no cramping...I would drive that car across the country if I could!!! The gas was decent 26.5 mpg down, and 27.5 mpg back, no complaints!!!...

I second this one. Unless your driving in some really open part of the country (like new mexico), it can be hard to keep the throttle at the appropriate level for long periods of time. I've taken mine on 8+ hour trips many times and once you start getting tired, speed starts creeping up.
