Taking the evo out in the snow is easily some of the best fun I've had in awhile. It is amazing in the snow, so don't be afraid at all to get out into the snow. Just take it easy until you get a little practice driving in the snow.

Well it has yet to snow here, but this last weekend a went and found some snow. HOLY CRAP this car continue's to amaze me. The roads were completly ice and snow packed but that didnt matter. what a blast to drive, the way there i was ripping it up on the canyon roads and a little bit later went tearing through the snow. EVO'S rule

From SoCal to D-town......huge difference. I lived near LA for about 2 years and I grew up in Colorado Springs (about 45minutes from Denver) The weather has been real strange in CO the past few years. Doesn't snow like it used to.

Growing up on the NY/CT border, I basically learned to drive in the snow, so I've always had fun in AWD cars but I put Dunlop Winter Sport M3s on my evo last year (my first winter with her) and it was great. So much control with the setup that I spun my car 180 degrees in the middle of a busy intersection covered in snow (carefully but still not a good idea) with the throttle because I needed to turn around. That's how confident the evo truly is when equipped with the proper tires for the season. As long as you anticipate your movements, the car reacts very similar to high speed dry driving...No problems at all aside from my winter wheels being too open and allowing snow/ice to collect on the inside and throw the whole balance off...what fun that is in 0 degree weather.

Couple things to know about the snow. First, stay off the turbo when getting rolling you will spin like crazy and if it is an incline spinning will ice up under the tires. Second if you get stuck don't spin and spin trying to get out you will heat up the acd. Lastly I scratched the crap out of the bottom sides of my car going through hardened snow, remember the car is fairly low to the ground and you will tear up your front end hitting frozen snow and scratch the sides, most common when you try to go through a cross street where a snow plow has left a burm. So like most owners I think the evo works well in the snow with snow tires. Lastly remember trying to go through snow that is to deep will get your high centered and your going to be pissed on those days drive the truck.

Evo + Pirelli Snowsports VS Snow = Evo 1 snow 0

Living in cleveland I went with snow tires and there's no looking back as far as handling in the snow.

As most have said b4, at a minimum once you have all seasons u are fine with the snow....

BUT...

when it comes to ice it doesn't matter what you are driving unless you have studded tires. Those days I stay home or drive VERY carefully.
