Exhaust Question?

Hey, I'm not sure exactly where to put this, so I figured general. Anyways, has anyone put the Works mufflerless exhaust system on there car yet? I am looking into getting a IX come late winter (Feb or April) and, I was very fond of the SRT-4, and I know the SRT has a mufflerless exhaust system on the car, and I wanted to know if this would yeild any more power, or anything of that sort? Thanks.

Joe.

not all muffler less evos sound bad, and research, youre wrong, you DO not need back pressure, it has a turbo, thats the backpressure.. if the evo was n/a then your statement would be correct..

On a turbo car, the higher the flow of the exhaust, the more power.

Get the highest flowing exhaust system that you and your local law enforcement and neighbors can bear the volume of.

you my good man r 100% right i was going to say that EXACT thing if you run open turbo you would probably get like 40 whp (the best exhaust for any turbo car is no exhaust) y else would you put a 3 or 3.5" straight through exhaust on a 4 cyl.

thats why i run 3 inch pipe... now going to a 4 inch pipe is overkill unless youre running over 600 horse... and there is a couple graphs showing this, but if your like me, and like just a little more noise, its nice, so i must have one..

buchuarracing.com also has a 3in muffler delete that you could buy with their exhaust then you could use when racing or wanting to be loud and change to quieter when taking you girl for a ride, think that might be the best solution.
