To buy or not to buy an EVO9

I am currently deciding whether or not to just keep my 03 gti as a A to B car and move out this spring to an apt with a friend. Or to buy a 06' EVO9 WW GSR w/ ssl package.

I want to get out of the house however I dont have to pay rent and im saving a good bit of money in hopes of getting a house in a few years.

So basically would you guys move into an apt for freedom(although I pretty much live with my gf anyways) but basically throwing money away or put that spare money into a new evo9 and keep saving as much as possible for a house in a few years?

I'd buy the Evo.

Of course, I'm also a moron.

don't buy any cars or move out. buying a car is throwing your money away almost as much as renting is. Yes I know, I'm a hipocrate with my 3 cars but that puts me in a better position to advise.

If you want the Evo 9 so bad go and get it, if you can have a life without the Evo go buy something else or save your money. Do what you want most.

Buy a house the car will come around again. As said earlier you are throwing money away on a car. The reason I drive a Focus now is because I bought expensive cars when I was young and at home. Hopefully by March I will have my EVO

i think you need to get priorities straight! if your goal is to save up and buy a house, why move out if you have it made, and why buy an evo if its going to be more expensive and an investment that wont gain you any money? Just be happy with what you have now and save and make money, a house is the best investment you can buy.

Get out of the house. Hard to get laid in the back of the Evo, easier in your own place.

you will have freedom once you move out into your new house in a few years.
take that extra money you are throwing away and get yourself an evo 9!
your freedom is on the road

Thanks for the opinions guys.

Yes a house would be my best investment by far. But in those few years I have til I can afford one of these overpriced houses in my area I wanted something that I could drive a little more spirited on those nice sunny days around the turns. My gti is still sitting on stock suspension with stock turbo. I guess we will see. I will keep you all informed in the next few months when I make my choice.

Save your money for a house, then buy the car. Don't waste your money on renting your own place. Thank your parents for not charging you rent. Hopefully, you show your appreciation by helping them out with expenses.

life is short buy the friggin evo 9, what u gonna do when you're 65? you'll probably be wearing thick bionocular type glasses, fat, bald, and probably looking for luxury rather than performance, when i'm retired i'm buying a big fat boat and living off it because i love the ocean... the my daughter will be grown up and i won't have a damn responsibility except my pension checks coming along with 401k/IRA withdrawals.... enjoy it while you're young cause when you're older it's just not the same, even at 35 i feel like i'm having a mid life's crisis and i'm not even there yet!
