for you guys wanted windshields, pm me your info and i can drop ship one directly to the body shop or any commecial business... i haven't checked the availability of them, but i'm sure it's not in the "weeks" range.. usually very hard parts are available within 3-5 days, that is, if they still make them... we had a problem with the OLD 60-70's vette back glasses... most of them aren't available because nobody makes them

if you paid $75 WITHOUT going through insurance or any other stipulation then it really shows how much of a tight *** you are...

couldn't go through insurance. it was a crashed car with a cracked windshield. had to get it inspected with a good windshield to get full coverage.

I ordered one for my car about 2 weeks ago and the guy said it was a speical order and the cheepest I could find it for was $504 plus $10 for the molding. I am just trying to figure out the weight diff in the lancer glass as the to evo.

there is no relative weight difference.... and if there is, you can take off the antenna and save the weight there

remember not ALL windshields are the same, but just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's THAT much better... elhalisf obviously got a cheap windshield, which i wouldn't reccomend...

this hype about one windshield being thicker and one being thinner is all bull****... it's the same scam with the weight difference.... the ONLY difference is the mirror bracket.... one has a GM (style) and the other has a Honda (style)...

if you were getting the work done through us i'd take off the mirror bracket off and put the correct one on... instead of waiting on the windshield for the evo..

there also might be, what we call, a dot matrix on your factory windshield... i can't rememeber exactly (been 6 months since i rode/drove an evo) though... it's above your rear view mirror and looks like numerous small black dots in a certain design... you don't necesarily have to have it (esp if you plan on tinting it) it's strictly a cosmetic option...

depending on how new your car is, your insurance company may or may not allow you to get a windshield from .... in this case, they probably will deny you because there is a NAGS part # and the car has been around for 3 years (body style in other respects)

Ummmm............damn. That's a little on the pricey side. Looks like I'll be rockin my cracked winshield for a little longer. $500 can buy the IC piping I've longed for and then some.....

i was told you'd break the window long before the bracket would come off. i guess they got sick of em fallin off in the summer. so if you heat it. the bond becomes stronger...but this is what i have been told maybe you can switch em

thats bull**** cause i glue them on all the time on other vehicles... EVERY rear view mirror will eventually fall off if it's attached to the glass... even if Ferarri was to do it, or Lamborghini... the glue will eventually release... you can use a torch and slowly melt the glue which will release the bond... we use a big crecent wrench to twist it while we heat it up...
