Evo Windshield

so I have looked all over and the cheepest I could get a new front windshield for was $504. I guess they don't make them aftermarket. that one hurt the pocket book

everyone I called said it was dealer glass I getting this one $25 over dealer cost. I got quoted as much as $725

There have been a few threads on this topic in the past. The windshield is thinner than most to save weight and thus costs more. You can fit a standard Lancer (cheaper) windshield on the Evo, but you have to deal with the added weight.

Check some of the dealer part sites I've seen the EVO windshield for ~$335. You may be able to get it from a dealer near you for that price. There's a lot of post about the windshield right now because they are on backorder and take weeks to get in. There does not seem to be a difference between the Lancer and EVO windshield glass, the biggest diference is the mirror mount. Several guys here in DC have had the Lancer windshield as a replacement and are fine with it. The installer just has to change the mirror mount.

Deng that's a lot of money to replacement those windeshields while we have sand trucks, semis, jack'd up red neck trucks running on the left lane here all the time...
