Hrm... I have a printout of it at home I think. I'll try to scan it and post here tonight or tomorrow.
I was told directly about the free maint. when I bought the car. I think it started on the 05's cause I vaguely remember them saying "oh yeah we got this new program...".

I can verify that. My dealer told me it was a monthly plan and that I was lucky I purchased when I did. He said the next month they stopped doing that and that they still currently aren't.
I bought my 05 almost exactly a year ago and I received the free maintenance. I think the program ended sometime in the spring or early summer. Also, I may be wrong, but I think there were a few 04s that have the deal if they were purchased late last year.
The maintenance is tied to your VIN number. If you have it, you should have gotten info on it when you bought your car. If you dont have that info, any dealer can use their computer to look it up. Or if you call mitsu USA customer service, they can prolly tell you also.
Its a pretty nice deal, not only do you get oil changes and tire rotations, but you get other more expensive stuff like cabin filters and drivetrain oil changes, etc. I did the 10k service myself, but Im taking it back in for the 15k one.

I bought an 04 it August 1-2 weeks before the MR came out (maybe I shouldve waited), I fell in love with the car the first day I say it so I bought it and drove home the same day.
I can't believe some of you don't know...
maybe Mitsu was trying to get people to purchase more cars but they offered 45k free maintanence, 60k bumper to bumper and 100k powertrain to say they have the best backed vehicles in the world or something like that...
I called to schedule a 3k oil change and they said I don't need the change my oil every 3k but 5k because it synthetic... wtf....
Its strange they give you a free oil change every 5k not 3.. but if its free I'll take it!

duh... you dont need to change your oil every 3k miles... this topic was discussed before..
only the first oil change maybe. but after that, 3k miles oil change is wasting resource.

Synthetic is 5k. Even longer if you dont run the engine that hard. People even suggest that synthetic oils dont even start lubricating best until AFTER 3k.

i bought an 04 17 months ago and I recieved free maintenence....doesn't mean much the way most of the mitsubishi dealers handle it (just check any of the evo boards, not many dealers want anything to do with us). I have to give a F- to the dealership I bought my GSR from...Lokey Mitsubishi, Clearwater Florida. I got my 15k checkup...1st thing I did was open the airbox...they didn't even change the air filter...I was like dumba$$ it says that on line one of the maintenence manual....duh

Ok, here's the deal. It was a special promotion back in the end of 04. It was supposed to end in November, but apparently it got extended a while, but I'm not sure how long. Everyone who bought an Evo during that timeframe gets free scheduled maintenance up to 3yrs/45k miles at 5k intervals. I've now gotten the 5k/10k/15k services done, but I did them at 4k, 8k, and 12k miles, since I race the car and since I put on miles slower than the # of months between services (5k=4mos). They all have been free, but until my 3rd one, I had to explain it about 3-4 times how mine was supposed to be free. Each time the service rep was confused, but eventually saw it in the system.
So, for those of you who bought back in late 2004/early 2005, just call up your dealership, have them run your VIN, and then see if it shows that you get free maintenance. It should have been part of the sale you got, since it was a promotion, so if you don't know about it, then you probably don't have it. They were using this to PUSH sales...

You get what you pay for. At my "free" 10k mile service they rotated the tires and didn't bother to tell me that there were some early signs of uneven tire wear. By 15k miles the front tires were toast even though the rear tires had another 3-5k miles in them. Morons. All they had to do was give me a heads up and would have gladly paid $70 for an alignment in order to save me the cost of $950 for 4 new Advans.
i have it, few do. It was the deal-maker at the time. Saves me alot of money in Mobil1. Honestly i wish they'd just give me the parts and fluids so i could do it at home.

Anyway, she goes "that takes synthetic oil so the charge will be about $110.". I said crap that I get free scheduled maintenance. She said "Oh Mitsu got rid of that mid 2004". I said that my 5000 maintnenance was free, and all scheduled ones up to 45000 should be.
After looking up my car she said oh right you got the free program- "not many did". I was wtf?? I said if I buy a 2006 does it come with the free maint and she said "nope, not offered anymore".
Is this person especially stupid/lying or what? Has anyone else heard this crap? Does anyone else try to use the free maintenance?

She could have been more professional about it and checked your VIN # before she told you no!
My wife and I bought her Montero Limited and my MR in late October 2004 and got free maintenance on both of them. We received a package in the mail for both vehicles that spelled out the maintenance schedule intervals and what they covered. When I took my MR in and asked them to check the alignment because of several threads I read here on bad factor alignment. At first the service guy didn't want to do it because the car was not pulling one way or the other. I finally lied to the guy and said it was pulling to the left. The service manager said the alignment was warrantied for one year. I got mine done a couple of days before the end of the year.
