110 lb of weight can slow you down a lot
This morning I did 3rd gear pull from 3k ~ 7k rpm with my logger
it took 5.054 sec.
at my lunch hour, I loaded my friend only weighing 110 lb and headed out to the same road and measured it the same way again. and surprise!
it took 5.584 sec!
that was like 30WHP diffference! Even if you count the hot air during the lunch hour. I couldn't belive 110 lbs can change that much. Guess what? my next mod will be the weight loss
To support my testing method: my car was never slower than 5.28 sec even during the hot lunch hour.

I know what you mean, when I want to impress my friends with my car it seems slower with them riding in it, but they are still like woah! Once I went grocery shopping at Sam's club and had my trunk completely loaded with groceries, a lot of which was bottles and cans of pop and gatorade and alcohol. It seemed as if it really booged down then. Now I don't go grocery shopping in it.

Unfortunately, taenive is too reliant on this logger thing (I thought a pocketlogger was for checking engine parameters) and is too easily swayed by changes in this little test he runs. I say this because a 100lb difference only makes a .1s difference...that's the rule of thumb.
Lastly, how in the world does this guy have a friend who weighs 110 pounds? Was it a little girl? I sure hope so, because my wife is a twig, yet she weighs ~120...

Yeah, got a buddy at work that swears it is only rotating weight that will slow you down, ..........., I mean, it makes plain sense, the less it weighs the quicker it will be, you will not make more HP, but it is less weight for that HP to pull,.......

well.. i wouldnt flip out about it, I have taken peopel for rides and wanted to show them the nice rush i get accelerating.. only to find that their damn weight is slowing me down.. im thinking damn that was slow, but thats for me cause im used to to the car.. normally your freinds are still going to be pretty impressed.
interesting topic... I probably added 100lbs to my evo in audio equipment and I don't notice enough of a change to care... I still ran a 12.7 with a 300whp car. Rotational mass is really the killer compared to static mass, you'll find that getting rims that weigh a little less will really make a difference.

i hope u were only joking, but seriously, it takes TIME to learn modding and/or driving, give the guy a break. that's like some of the ppl here who say "hell yea i speed, if u wanted to go only the speed limit, u should've bought a civic" as if u can't go past the speed limit in a civic lolanyway, don't take my comment personally, but just ease up on the guy.
