He said in the message that I should come down to the dealership, where Kevin will give me a presentation and then we will go for a test drive. It takes me around 1 hour to get there (very bad traffic around JFK airport). I finally get there but Kevin is busy. He knows I am in the vicinity but choses to take another customer instead. I get to the dealership, ask for Kevin, not one person knows where kevin is. Finally one person says he went on a test drive. I wait for Kevin for another 30 minutes or so and then I get this Russian dude (not sure about his name) boy was he rude about everything. His attitude was do you want to buy or not? I told him that I must test drive the car before. He said that they do not test drive this car and that is their policy. So why did Kevin tell me that I will be test driving the Evo then? No response. He told me test drive the car somewhere else and get a price. He offered me 1000 dollars off the price of that car. Finally I left with real anger. I picked up my grandfather but before I got him I called the dealer and told Kevin about my experience. He apologized and said when the Evo 9 MR comes in that I will give me a call. He never did. I explained to him that he wasted 3 hours of my time plus gas (this is when gas prices were around 3.35 a gallon. I figured that he wasted about 30 dollars of mine. So the short story is that this dealer despite their awards, they are nothing but a bad dealer. I would never go back there again. White Plains Miotsubishi is so much better. They let me drive the Evolution 9 MR without any credit history, just my license. 5 Towns Mitsubishi should close.

Your horror story sounds similar to mine.

anyhow, I befriended a guy who used to work for Five Towns Mitsu. he lives a few blocks away from me and I knew him when he worked for Valley Stream Mitsubishi. When Valley Stream Mitsu closed down they actually moved to Five Towns.

This guy ended up quitting working for five towns a few weeks after it opened for several reasons, and one I'm sure is how they do business. He was hesitant to go into details, but this one individual had a conscience that probably botherd him if he stayed working for them. Anyhow, I'm glad that we can talk and what not when we run into each other, but before, I'm sure the bosses there train all their sales staff to work like sharks.

not to sound racist or anything, but when I was growing up people older than me would tell me to be extremely cautious especially when it comes to doing business either with Koreans/Russains/Jews. in this case is an example to never do business with them unless you wanna get screwed hard from behind.

another thing I wanted to add as well was that the sales staff over there has frequent turnovers. I went there one sunday and saw a lot of young guys working there. Come back a week to a month later and you see new faces.

But they really are #1, right now. I've wondered what that place is like. Must be huge. But OTOH, it is probably relative to all dealers in that area, and is no bigger then a typical Honda or Toyota store there. Inwood, right?

As far as their service, well no comment. The guy was rude, but looks like they don't waste time with anybody unless they think they are buying because they are absolutely pumping cars out up there. Bigger, higher volume dealers usually have lower CSI scores.

even when I was there they didnt want to work with me on the finance rate and monthly payment. They wanted me to pay like $500/mo on the car when I wanted a $300-$350/mo payment. They thought I wasnt serious about the car, and I was like WTF....and showed them my latest bank statement that I had $10K cash ready to put down on the car.

Yep.. the other day I got to pop the hood on a Evo9mr. It was at 5 Star Mitsubishi here in queens. The guy was pretty cool, young guy very siked about the car. I got to look at the interior and all, I did not have to get my credit checked to look at the car.

I second Manfredi Mitsu.

I bought my car there even though they are about and hour and a half away.
The dealers in NJ I went to (Freehold, Brad Benson, CHT-plex) all were compelte douche bags, I had to walk out of every single one, even though I had the full intention of buying one. Mitsubishi probably isnt selling cars not because of quality or price but probably just because the dealers are such ignorant clowns.

I went to Manfredi, talked to the sales manager, he was courteous and a nice guy, we talked about the car for a while, he found me one I wanted, gave me an unbeatable price even in January for a 2005 and I got it 3 days later.

Yeah I had an ok experience with 5 star mitsu as well. They are like 20 minutes away from me. Lim is a salesman there, really nice guy, vietnamese guy, probably old enough to be my dad, but I dont know if he is still working there....if so ask for him..

And yes, I have had some bad experiences doing business with jews/russians/koreans while growing up....especially in the business world man.....they will cut your throat with a razor w/o hesitating, or screw you from behind w/o even using a condom.

yeap, and I'm not saying I hate them or anything, I do have a lot of jewish and russian customers (where I work) who are pleasant but they are way too far and few. The majority of them act like spoiled children... ya know....Its gotta be my way or the highway kinda thing.
