Well then you should know that 330ci is not worth your time at all.
I'll record of vid of my lil cousin's 330ci againist my Evo next time I see him and show you the difference. Basically his exact words are "man fawk you, stop fawking with me man, your car is fast ALRIGHT!?" - lol

Why would you even mention that? You're taking a more expensive car and adding a very expensive kit on a normally-aspirated engine not built for boost. What's good about that, and why would we care? You can also mod the Evo for much less and be just as fast as any boosted 330i.

I could probably name at least 10 cars that have more HP on paper than the Evo, but would get smoked by the Evo in a race, straight line or otherwise. Even cars that look like they should have an = or better weight/hp ratio...

Classic example:
2003 Nissan 350z................... 2003 Lancer Evolution
287hp..................................... 271hp (16 less)
3247lbs................................... 3241lbs (only 6 less)
mid 5s to 60 .......................... high 4s seconds
low 14s................................... low 13s

The Evo is 1/2 second faster to 60 and almost 1 second faster in the 1/4 with roughly the same hp/lbs... in other words, there's a lot more to consider than just the published HP #s.

I haven't driven the new IS350, but I had an IS300 with 80 less HP (215 vs 306). It was dog slow (to me), but it handled better than any other car I'd ever had up until that point. It felt like it was on rails and was very good for a 4-door sedan that wasn't built to be a race car (like the Evo). I would imagine they kept the handling comparable on the IS350, but now it has an additional 80hp that should make it comparable to the G35 coupe and better than the G35 sedan.

I got to drive the IS350 a few weeks ago at a Lexus drive event.

It was a VERY nice car. I would take it over a BMW 3 or 5 series any day (M's excluded)

It's weaker and heavier than the old IS300, but has AWD for those who need it. If they had an IS350 AWD, it would rock, but it would be ridiculously expensive. Already, the IS250 AWD is 35k MSRP, which is more than my IS300 had on the sticker (I paid 29k).

Now I know why bench racing and dumb vs. threads are not allowed on most other forums.

First its, "looking for opponents." then its "need a luxury car to go with my Evo." or "what if you supercharge it?"

See how they stack up on GT4 first before you make your decision to buy one, race one or whatever it is you want.

It's about the gearing; Evo is just better matched for performance. Also AWD launch is the other winning factor for the Evo.

While it's true the 330i comes in AWD, that will add even more weight. I see a few of you are comparing the old Evo, 271hp to the new 330i. Even there the Evo wins. We need to compare the new Evo to the new 330i. Of course we all know the outcome of that. Especially since the Evo 9 is most likely underrated at 286hp, and can hit 12's in stock form. On a side note, didn't the 330i only have like 180hp when the Evo and WRX came out? From a 6 cylinder no less.
These 2 shouldn't even be compared. One is 30k luxury, the other 30k performance. It is all where the money went to build the cars.
