strut bar guard

Does anybody know why Mitsu put the seemingly useless plastic guard on the front strut bar?

Most likely to stop the battery from shorting onto the bar in a collision.
Just my guess...

So in case you slam your evo, the battery will not short out on the metal bar.

Not everything Mitsu does is useless.

If you were in an accident bad enough to crunch the battery into the strut bar I think a short would be the least of your problems.

I agree. If you were in an accident and a fuel line busted or something under the hood, a good spark from the battery hitting the strut bar would ruin your whole day.

A hand grip just in case you need it as a weapon - you know, a martial arts Japaneese thing,

Man that is a good question

It covers the blinker fluid container and the turbo emergency on/off switch.

It's there to stop you from shorting the + terminal to the bar when you are tightening the cable clamps, If you forget to take the - terminal off first or on last.

Cheap insurance to leave it on or switch to plastic conduit if you want to shave weight

Yall are kidding....right?

Its to keep the wrench that you use to loosen the terminal on the battery from shorting to ground.

^ Ha ha, u make joke...right? j/k, Seriously a battery will last a good 5 years so there’s no need to take it out, your car could be wrecked tomorrow, which is what is more concerned about. Besides, anybody that takes the positive terminal off first probably doesn’t/shouldn’t own the proper tools to do so.
