I just talked to Doug the Sales Manager at the Wayteza Sealership and he confirmed that they are taking deposits. He then told me that the price is looking to be about $30000. He said they should hit the dealership between Mid-November and Mid-January. I'll believe it when I see it. Still, makes me crazy....

Evo VII will not be coming to the USA this winter!!
I just wanted to let everyone know the information that my partners and myself have been told by Mitsubishi.
As of right now, there will be no Evo VII coming to the USA, at all!
Mitsubishi is going to be bringing the Evo VIII to the USA Summer of 2003!
If you find this hard to believe, just call any Mitsubishi Dealership in the country and ask them when they expect to be getting the Evo. If the dealership you are asking is "In the know" then they will tell you that they have nothing coming until Summer 2003.
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I just want to make sure that everyone can get their deposits back, because the Evo VII is NOT coming to the USA this winter.
EDIT: This link should answer a lot of questions: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/020104/laf016_1.html

"Expect the Lancer Evolution sedan we'll see in U.S. showrooms to rumble with a 2.0 liter turbocharged, inline-four developing more than 250 rabid horses, gravity-defying four-wheel-drive handling, eye-ball displacing Brembo brakes and a sub-30K sticker price."

Ken did you try Hayward Mithsubishi or Concord Mitshubishi?
I went to Concord looking for a eclipse spyder GST and they were big time jerking around...(that was before I got my currrent car)
I went to Hayward Mitshubishi and they would not even let my fried drive one... (Lancer OZ) which I have to say all show....
Cheers

I've put down the deposit ($500) for a blue/black evo at Boch Mitsubishi(in MA) a week ago. I was told that they can order 10 Evolutions and try to get the color you want, the ordering wont happen until 9/02 and the Evos should arrive in their showroom before Christmas. In my opinion, Boch is pretty nice to dealer to do business with, they quoted the Evo to be started at $27,999 and can be fully loaded around $34k. The sales person told me that so far they had 20 people reserve it, but only 3 people paid a deposit on it(i was the third), and only when they got a deposit that they'll order an Evo for you. So if you're in the New England area and want an Evo, pay Boch Mitsubishi a visit.
I don't like the sound of 6000 in options to get it "loaded". That may mean things we thought would be standard at the "under 30k" we were told are actually going to be options. Maybe a sunroof, hids, navigation system, Recaros, ayc, auto tranny, and Brembos will be the options???
I'm thinking the options would be somewhat like what subaru did, maybe some ralliart parts, upgraded wheels, nav system, auto, sunroof, maybe the Recaro since they were designed for the slimmer asian bodies. As for the Brembo and AYC, they'll be standard since theres no downgraded version. best just to wait and see.
