Here's the deal, I'm planning on taking home a black 05 evo tomorrow. But, I got a reply back from a guy who says he moved to Florida and left the car back at his old house to sell. He's selling a black 2004 Sti w/ 3465 mi on the car. He's only asking 19k. He told me we would use a 3rd party company to ship the car to me to inspect for 2 days. I can reject or choose to keep it. If I choose to keep it, he said he would come down to seal the deal. For those who know, how's the maintenance on the sti?

 

I got an 04 sti and it is rock solid. The maintenance requirements are like that for the evo but the transmission and clutch are much more robust.

 

somehow, it's too good to be to true. But if he's really going to give it up for 19k and you will get the car, I would get it.

basically any kind of low price too good to be true involving a 3rd party is usually a scam. Who in the world would ship their car to every interested buyer? think about it...SCAM sorry

 

A scam is also what I was thinking. I was also looking at a modded 1993 tt 6spd supra. The guy is selling for 5990. It has 105k on it. He said, he moved to Germany and the car is back in Stockton New Jersey. He also told me about using that 3rd party bs. He said shipping is included in scam.....i mean price.

 

If its legit i would do it, the cars are rock solid and you shouldnt have any problems at all. the maintenance is about the same as a evo maybe cheeper becuase you dont need mobil1.
