You're welcome

The only bummer from my setup was the new fogs looked similar to stock HID, but my stock HIDs no longer existed . For those wanting to get fogs (H11) that are more purplish, they're supposedly coming soon. I'll post more info when they become available from European Autosport.

He's right. The higher the color temp., the less lumens they emit, therefore less visibility or not as bright.

If you want a cheap replacement for the fog lights that match the factory HID color......

.....search ebay for "EVO PLASMA"

Item #8018136290

I have these and for $10 shipped they are great bulbs. I use my fogs all the time. I've had these for about 4 months and they are great. Perfect match and only take 5 minutes to install.

FYI - the stock fogs are a different color for a reason....they are ment to be used in the fog. I just wanted matching additional light for normal driving and these are great.

Be wary of advertised kelvin grades. 4,300k and 4,100k is OEM white. 5,000k would be very blue. 6,000k would be very purple.

A lot of ebay companies etc. promote 6k that are actually more blue and to offset this also offer 8k and 10k bulbs which are ridiculous marketing tactics.

You will find that the guys at EuropeanAutosport use a Konica light meter to measure the TRUE kelvin grade of their bulbs so their 5k kit is blue and 5.8k kit is purple as per the Kelvin grade.

Pictures are hard to take of light but I would say these bulbs look much blue than anything else so 5k give or take.

Philips sell their Ultinon as a 6k bulb but its a 5,800k bulb and they freely admit that the 6k is rounded up aka marketing. Its a purple looking bulb.

To all those claiming higher K = less lumens = right. Your lucky to get 2,800 lu vs. 3,200 lu stock with 6k and higher bulbs. Granted they are still bright vs. halogen but more importantly rain, sleet, snow, fog throw the lamps curve ***** and the lights right back in your face causing a potential driving hazard. Knowing this never go over 5,800k!

on saying that, a 50w ballast can overpower a 35w HID bulb, this will in turn reduce kelvin measurement of the bulb by a few hundred K.

Fogs are in the wrong place to really help in fog. the lower to the ground the better. US fog lamps except for some Lexus models are all driving lights for the most part. Fog lamps should be much more yellow to benefit driving in fog.

So how much did you pay for the low beam kit from europeanautosport.com--$499? Are they better than the kits you see at hidplace.com which run about $350?

try xenonfactory.com, Philips bulb, Hella / Philips ballast. Any kit with that combo will be a good one.

Low beam projector housing is going to give more accurate light, aimed at the road. Sticking in a 9005 high beam HID kit would be nuts, lots of light scatter and it would look like a Honda with an HID kit because the whole lamp assembly would shine like a nuclear reactor. It will be bright, but not in a good way thanks to the large reflector housing.

Fog lamp housing is shielded (around bulb) so sticking an HID kit in there would not be 'as' bad but overkill all the same IMO.

thats where I got the kit I used to have in my expedition and my truck was like a rolling wall of daylight with them. I got the 4100k because i wanted the brightest possible and I love it. I want to get a 4100k kit for my fogs in the evo also because I like having a ton of light at night time

mounting the ballast is a pain in the Evo though, suggest the new Philips thin ballast kit w/ ignitor. Im sure xenonfactory can get it. Easier to mount than the bricks before.
