Production Volume
Production Volume
Does anyone have stats on total production volume for the Evo? When I bought my 2003 Evo, The claim was 3,000 total units for the USA, when I bought my 06 Evo, the dealer (which is a friend of mine) said that there was only 500, and 300 MR's sold here in 2005. I know these cars are limitied production which to me adds in their appeal, makes the car "not so common". If you have an insight on production volume for the Evo, stateside, and worldwide, I would like to know out of curiousity. Thanks....

The only true MR? What is that supposed to mean? Im just qondering where your info came from, not trying to disrespect or doubt, I just want to see it from an official source. By the way, you live anywhere near Fairfax County?
I have the only one that matters...MINE!!
I did a search one time to find the number by colors. Nothing really found but total production numbers are around 5000 and 1000MR, I assume the colors are divided from 5000. How the split that, I don't know. It is nice to know that whatever color you have, you still have a rare car but, you don't have MINE!

Re My Post Production Volume
Thanks for all your responses. I believe the numbers my dealer gave me were for California, not the whole USA. My mistake on that. But seems no one really knows the true production volume. I guess that depends on supply and the demand. I just would like it if Mitsubishi kept the EVO as kinda an exclusive car so you just don't see them everywhere. If that happends, then the uniquness of the car is gone, and so is some of the fun and pride of owning one. I think though that if anyone truly wants the Rally inspired EVO to buy one now, because the X is going to be based on a Chrysler platform and most likely will be less Rally oriented for us here in the States. I have a feeling MItsubishi is trying to make the EVO like an IS300 in terms of luxory and sport mix. Just by looking at the pics of the prototype shows the way they are going with the car. Longer wheelbase, wider, fancier interior, and a price that I am sure will add a few more thousand to the already steep price may just keep the EVO from coming stateside. You never know. Just my ten cents....Take Care all..........Jeff
