Quick video from hpde

I went to my first hpde at Barber Motorsport Park in B'ham this past weekend. I had a blast, to say the least. Here is a quick video of 1 lap. My mount works much better when there aren't two huge helmets blocking the view. I'm getting a windshield mount before the next track day. I'm addicted. Everyone should try one of these events, it is a good time with great people.

Oh, click widescreen on the size selector, or the video looks funny. Link:

That's too funny. I had an issue getting in to the pboc event. I had an invitation to come out from RnR Racing, and the event coordinator wouldn't allow the guard to let me in. I was not amused, to say the least. I talked to the pboc president the next week, he apologized, but it was not pboc's fault, just typical b.e.t./zoom attitude.

high performance driver education. It allows normal folks to bring their cars to a track and get some time to drive them in a way that isn't safe or legal on the street. It's a controlled environment, very safe is the emphasis. You also get some valuable feedback on your driving technique from an instructor if you want it, allowing you to take advantage of you and your car's potential. It's not racing, and there are rules for passing, etc.

I was just on the HPDE site and saw the requirements and saw this one "Membership in NASA or a NASA sanctioned club". How do I enroll in the NASA club and do I have to pay. I really want to go to a track but have no idea how this works. Sorry for jacking your thread.

NASA is $40/year but you get a subscription to Grassroots Motorsports so it isnt too bad. NASA is just one of the many organizations that host these events though. Try posting in your regional forum to find out about track days in your area. Also, search, read, and post in the Motorsports section if you want more info.
