Fog lights have a purpose, and that purpose is not to have superbright HIDs installed. There's a reason why your fog lamps are disabled when the hi-beams are turned out. Please reconsider doing this and think about the consequences.

Im looking into doing this as well. Im in Florida so we dont have much fog or any for that matter. Plus alot of high end cars like Mercedes, BMWs and such have HIDs all over. I dont see any consequences with swapping the fogs for HIDs

Blinding oncoming traffic.

Both of my Lexus's have HID headlights but regular Halogen fogs. When you say those cars have HIDs all over, are you saying they have HID fog lamps, corner lamps, and parking lamps or what?

but why....... are HIDs are on all the time and your goingto have the same light pattern if you put the HIDs in the fogs...... why not do the Hi-Beams then you don't have to worry about blinding people and you will have alot better visibility on the back roads

LOL! I guess your one of those people that you have to explain everything to. I was just talking about the fog's being HIDs not the corner lamps and parking. I think there's some one here with an Evo that has parking lamps and reverse in HID.

Ive seen atleast 2 around here with hid kits in the fog lenses, I think evos look like crap when there fog lights are turned on, so I always leave mine off anways.
I was wondering how yellow bulbs would look like in the fogs.

and nevermind the negative people, or the people that whine about light everywhere.

If you look at the shots, and see that i normally run the lights on the medium setting, it lights up the road fine. The only time the jdm housings cause a problem is on a huge divided highway, because then there is enough road for the beam to expand diagonally, and i'll get a flash... oh, maybe once in 100 trips. ( not often at all, but that is the weak spot on the jdm housings ).

edit: and excuse the horrible exposure rates on the shots. thx.

mine are tuned below where they should be (highest adjustment on the leveling is above, med is below, low is WAY below) and they light up the road just fine...
