Some people say that you shouldn't buy a new FMIC with the stock turbo. It's not that you won't see gains, it's that before a bigger turbo there are so many better things you can do to your car first.

The gains you see with a FMIC on the stock turbo are a lot smaller then what you would see on a larger turbo.

What mods do you have currently?

What are you're goals? The standard FMIC is fine for up to 600hp only above that will you see significant gains with the larger race version.

x2... if you are not making close to 600hp than one of the standard intercoolers will work just fine.

I am on the stock turbo but plan to eventually swap out for a gt35. From reading DSMotorsports post it sounded like they were't urging against using the FMIC with the stocker although i do understand the principle argument. I dont want to feel like i went half the way after i buy the front mount and regret it later

ok dont get me wrong the stock intercooler does what its sapposed to do. but the size is very decieving. it is huge (for stock) it really dosent flow that good and the efficiency is not that great for its size. if you dont know what else to do with the $ buy 1 but its fine for right now. me save your $ for the gt35r then get the buschur intercooler.

You and I seem to be in the same place, ironicly. I have a 05' Black Tarmac and I don't want to buy mods twice. If you know you will be buying a 35R or similiar sized turbo and pushing it then I see no problem with upgrading to the race FMIC.

I'm doing Buschur Stage IV as we speak and will play for awhile. The only reason is I want to see what this car feels like with 350awhp and that great stock spool I know it will be tons of fun. I will be buying some mods twice I just want to see how much fun this car is with the stocker.

By summer I expect to have a stroker and GT35R in there. I've been researching strokers and 4G64's as we speak I want a 8500rpm redline. Knowing me I'll just go to Buschur anyway, but it's fun to look at options.

Good luck.
