So you use multiple clutches at the same time on your car.

Every time I look at the spreadsheet I use for tracking Evo related expenses I end up groaning. Here's the meat of it:

Engine related - about $7900:

K&N Typhoon intake (gift from my wife) - about $220

Xede+SMART+XEDE Flash+home fabbed remote map switching and LED stuff - about $1400
Vishnu (2003 version) "standard" turbo back exhaust with both a HFC & test pipe - $850
Vishnu cam gears - about $250
(all approximate - I bought the XEDE/Exhaust/Cam gears as a kit in 2003 for $2200)

Ported head + oversized valves + springs & retainers - about $2200
Piper Rally Cams - roughly $750
Custom porting and fabrication needed for the intake and exhaust manifolds and gaskets - $150
Three different head gaskets and re-decking the head to fix the original head work + related install expenses - roughly $600

10.5 Hotside for OEM turbo and related gaskets & bolts - $300
Walbro Fuel Pump - $90
Hallman MBC - $95

Dyno time and re-tuning the car numerous times after adding new parts and testing for optimal settings + all the misc gaskets, fluids & etc. for doing all this work - guessing at $1000

Chassis related - about $5850:

Stroth 4-Point harnesses - roughly $325
TDR Pro Race one wheels + lug nuts + center caps - about $900
Rear diffuser - $400
MR rear windscreen diffuser - $170

Stainless brake and clutch lines - $180
Replacement "in car" and "under hood" shifter bushings - $60
JIC coilovers (after selling off the parts that didn't break) - $1000
Zeal Function XS Coilovers - $2400

Cornerweighting and alignments to get everything dialed in (twice) - about $425

Suff that wore out and/or needed replacing - about $5270:

2 new sets of performance brake pads for all 4 corners - about $850
Lots of ATE Blue brake fluid (bled before and after track days) - $120
4 new sets of tires (1 snow, 2 track, 1 street) - about $4300

Total minus the stuff I'm forgetting - $19,000 - ouch!
If you take out the wear stuff I'm a bit under $14,000 - still ouch.

A couple of other notes - I do virtually all the install work myself, so the only labor here is for machine work or other services I don't own the equipment for (dyno time + alignments & corner weighting).

Unfortunately since my oil pump seems to have failed, it looks like my costs will be going up - I'm thinking of going stroker + 3076 for a pump gas track day set-up.

(oh - I voted low before checking my spreadsheet)

i just picked up my Evo, so the list is very very small. Tomorrow I'm picking up an HKS Blow-off Valve for free since I'm trading him some Works Upper Pillowball Mounts that I aquired from some guy for free, also. ^_^

As soon as you get it, you should sell it on here for $200, then get a JDM MR DV and MBC for the same amount.

I don't want to do this really, as I've been my own little ostrich brigade with my head in the sand, but here it goes:

RNR cat back with HKS carbon/ti muffler $770 (with shipping)
WOrks HFC: $249
Works 3" 02 housing (pre-production model): $429
Works coated 3" downpipe: $449
used XEDE: $650
SMART: $399 (IIRC)
XEDE tune: $300 + 165 dyno time
ACT clutch, labor, headstuds, labor & tax: $1400
Nisei intercooler: $750
WHite Rabbit: $1500
AMS lower pipe: $175
coatings $200
Buschur Exhaust Mani: $225
Works filter: $100
labor to install turbo, downpipe, LIC pipe, intercooler, and take off old stuff: $1000

This equals $7861, but doesn't include some other things, so 8 Gs is slightly conservative.

or make your own MBC for less then 10 at home depot, and keep the HKS. save yourself the hassle of selling, shipping, buying, shipping.

True, that's no fun, but it's probably less hassle than dealing with an HKS SSQV BOV on an 03.
