Good for you and what the hell does that have to do with me posting a video of having a little fun in the rain?

We only crossed into the oncoming lanes because we could see FAR AHEAD there were no cars coming. Why stay in your own lane when you can take advantage of TWO.

This was just posted to show that we had a little fun on our outing even though it was raining and cold as a ****!

One of the best roads in America.

Went there last year. Some of the surrounding roads are just as good and not as "crowded."

For all of you that live in the midwest, like me, there are tons of roads in Cali that are like the "tail of the dragon". Since they are close to peoples homes they can drive there alot and get up to wicked speeds while still being in control. My personal favorite was the run to Big Bear and Arrowhead. 33 miles of corners from marked at 10 mph to whatever you can pull. You can also get to Mulholland Dr easy, and the canyons in the Hollywood Hills, but these probably aren't fun anymore. In San Diego there is the run to Julian or Mt Laguna, and if you don't mind motorcycles the trip to Palomar.

Here's one of the sort of fun roads by me. Granted this isn't a very good picture of the route but it gives an idea. Very twisty roads before and after this.

Always wanted to visit up there... so does anyone live off that road or was it just made for the hell of it?

I've driven up there once when I had my Civic, and we're planning on making another run at the end of this month

I am not sure on the history of hwy 129, but the Dragon basically borders the southern boundary of the Great Smoky Mountain Natl Park- so not too many people live there now. The area was settled before the park so it may have been a dirt road at one time. I assume it was improved to its current state when TVA built the dams and formed the lake during WWII.
