OK I am currently looking for a new car. I drive my moms 04 IS300 . Its not really fast but whatever. My grandparents are going to buy a car for my and I am looking at the EVO 9 or Evo 8 MR Brand new.... Idk which i should go for. I have about 10g's saved up from working to MOD the car. I plan on putting a nice sound system, wheels, new body kit, a wing, carbon fiber hood, cams, phatty turbo, intake, cam gears, exhaust, and other stuff i cant think of right now. Can you guys help me out on wut to buy and which EVO i should get and why? Thanx alot guys

Phatty turbo? I don't know what that is. I would suggest just exploring this site, because there are a ton of resources. Try first at looking at the differences between the Evo VIII and IX and you make the choice, it isn't really hard.

I'm assuming that you are pretty young. If your grandparents are going to pay for your Evo in full, you are very fortunate. The Evo is pretty darn fast right out of the box. If it were me, I'd save my hard-earned money for something else (college, etc.). My Evo is 100% stock, and I'm happy with it. Modding can get addictive and expensive (as many will tell you). Plus. you could void your warranty and potentially reduce the life of your car. I'd go with a new IX with SSL (my opinion) if it's going to be paid for. Keeping it stock (or nearly stock) will be your best bet. Others will disagree, though. Good luck.
