If it's ok in VA, it's probably ok anywhere. Those guys (police) are nuts.

I spent 6 years in FW. Bought my Z06 there in 2002 and drove it around almost a year (before moving back to Ca.), getting pulled over many times for stupid s**t. Never got written up for not having a front plate. I think its kind of like window tint, selective inforcement. Most cops probably dont care, but they will write a ticket for it if they are board or cant find anything else.

Herring Mitus in Plano sells the plate kit in pieces. The bracket is somewhere around $30.I just remember saying to myself how a little part is so damn expensive. You will also need to buy the screws and other little nicknacks. The black frame mount is another costly piece. It was so expensive i just walked out and modded the frame that Carmax screwed to the front of car.Yep,they scrrewed into the front right over the two small slots.

I had mine off for a while, put it on the front windshield when I needed to get on base at APG. They told me if it wasn't mounted to the bumper when I came back I'd get a ticket. I like the look without much more (obviously) but you really don't have to drill to put it on. The two bolts are pretty firm, and a small square of double sided foam tape works for the third attachment point.

im not sure i would get into the cops word vs yours...but just prove to him that you did put a bracket on. (if you mean to say you had the plate on and the cop was just a di<k)

Up here, You MUST have it on the front bumper. The window doesn't count. I've been pulled over for it once with it in the window and was just given a warning since he pulled me over for something else anyway (taillight). What i see most people do around here is hang the plate real low and then bend it up under the bumper so only half of it or less shows. Probably not legal, but i see it VERY often.

ive been thinking about removing mine in MD, but on 270 and 70 wouldnt the cops give you hell?? I'm not part of the whole DC evo club yet, but i do see alot of evo's when i go down to gaithersburg.

I know the cops stare at me when im just cruising...like they are just itching to pull me over for the slightest mistake...

Jesus this sucks. I am not going to pay over $30 for a kit. I'll see what i can do about it. Time to go custom.
